I have been with A&G for 1 year now and A&G just increase my monthly payment by R165 per month. I did not had any claims and not vehicle was ****** where the vehicle is kept during day or night time. To me the amount must stay the same or less because the vehicle value is less than last year. This is why I will not recommend A&G .

02 Sept 2026, 08:43Good day Richard,
Thank you for contacting us regarding the increase in your monthly insurance premium. We understand your concern, particularly given that you have been insured with A&G for the past year without submitting any claims and that there have been no changes to where your vehicle is kept during the day or at night.
While a claim-free history is an important factor that may positively influence your premium, annual premium reviews take a number of factors into consideration. These factors can include increases in repair costs, vehicle parts pricing, inflation, changes in claims trends across the industry, and the overall risk profile associated with insuring vehicles similar to yours. As a result, premiums may increase even when no claims have been lodged and there have been no changes to your personal circumstances.
You are correct that the value of a vehicle generally decreases over time. However, the insured value of the vehicle is only one component used in determining the premium. The cost of repairing or replacing vehicles and vehicle parts has increased significantly, which can affect premiums independently of the vehicle's depreciating value.
We value your loyalty and appreciate your feedback regarding your experience. We understand that any increase in premium may be disappointing, and we would welcome the opportunity to review your policy with you to ensure that all information remains accurate and that you are receiving the most appropriate cover for your needs.
Kind regards,
The Auto & General team
