Are they for real?
I logged a claim with Auto and General on 30 June 2017 after being in an accident. i had a courtesy car for 30 days as per poliy. After 30 days i called Auto and general to get an update on the vehicle and was told that there was a back order on parts and the vehicle is not ready. In the next 30 days thereafter i made numerous phone calls and there was a "maybe next week your car will be ready story". Eventually on the evening of the 28 August i arranged for the "so called ready vehicle" to be delivered to the airport", and i paid the excess to the panelbeater. As i drove the vehicle from the airport to my home (15 minutes drive), i could hear a funny sound.
The next morning i had a look at the body work, and i was really disappointed....
1. The spoiler to the back bumper was sticking out and it wouldnt slot into place. 2. The damages to the front bumper was not done. 3. PDC's are not working 4. Minor scrathes were not done. 5. The back left vehicle nearly came of as i was driving the vehicle the next morning. 6. Another funny sound while driving.
**i called the panelbeater in the morning to say i wasnt happy with the job and that there was a funny noise after driving the vehicle from point A to B the next day.
*** while driving the vehicle from point B back to point A, there was a bad vibration on the steering wheel, and i had to reduce speed to 60km an hour. I was desperately flagged down by another driver to say, " there is something wrong with your back wheel".
I immediately stopped the vehicle and called the panelbeater, who came through with his worker. The worker had a wheel spanner and apparently the wheel nuts were loose.
How does one deliver a vehicle to a customer after 2 months, with the wheel coming of, amoung the other things listed above that has not been repaired?
I called Auto and General again, who said they will get back to me in 4 hours, which they didnt and the call was escalated to the assessor.
The assessor called me and said he will get back to me. Almost a week later (no feedback from the assessor), the panel beater calls me and says he would like to repair the bumper.
So what about the rest of the damages, and the question i asked the assessor is:
* Will i have to pay another excess? * If they give me another courtesy vehicle who is now liable for the fuel deposit?
Really poor service.....
