How NOT to convince customers to buy.
Just imagine: You register your business on 30 July 2020. On Monday 10 August 2020 a prospective client asks for references. Your response: "Sir, we have so many but of course we must sick [sic] their opinions before we give their personal details to others." Prospective client enquires about guarantee on the product (gearbox which is apparently imported) Your response: "Yes we give you guarantee at least 2 months" Prospective client asks for name(s) of owner(s) and or director(s) of the company. Your response: "With this information, you can verify everything from there: AUTO-AGRO EQUIPMENT PTY 17 Rutherford Rd, Ashburnham, Kimberley 8301 Northern Cape, South Africa. Tel: +*** WhatsApp: +*** Website: www.autoagroequipments.co.za Email: *** Company Reg. No. *** VAT Number ***. Prospective client enquires about the companies website indicating it was established in 1987 but according to CIPC records it was only registered on 30/7/2020. Your vague response: "We just registered this branch for engines and gearboxes" BUT THEN: Prospective client enquires about delivery time and the quick response: "just depending on how quick your payment is confirmed. delivery is done within 24 to 48 hours after payment confirmation" and "as long as it's immediate payment then it will be good" And the cherry on top: Prospective client requests (upon recommendation of mechanic) for gearbox code. Your response: "Take note that we have many clients to attend to on daily basis. If we have to grant all client request like this..we are also humans not machines. If the gearbox I sent you yesterday doesn't looks like your you can check in another shop. Rather than wasting much time from one request to another." Dear Mr Job Gibson (I assume this is your name because you never gave me any indication of who you are but this name was listed by CIPC): At present in this country we have to be extremely careful departing with our hard-earned money. Each and every transaction needs to be verified and each and every sale is based on a relationship of trust. Unfortunately your attitude did not instill any trust whatsoever in me as a prospective client. I wish you well with your newly established business.
