Bad Service from Middelburg Audi centre dealership

Good Day Hello Peter

I am extremely disappointed with the services received from a seemingly ‘reputable’ car dealership/ brand

I have been a proud owner of my AUDI for a number of years. Unfortunately she broke-down while on a trip in the Belfast area. I was towed to the closest dealership ( Audi Centre Middelburg ) for assistance. Upon their investigation they advised the total cost of repairs would be R15K. I had since returned to Johannesburg and advised that they continue with the repairs so I could get my car back. I placed a deposit of R10K and they worked on the car. While going through the repair process the dealership advised that they were finding more issues with the car and though it had been repaired, it could not be driven to Johannesburg without further problems arising.

As a result I reached a decision to tow the car from Middelburg to Johannesburg. I organized my own private tow truck to travel from Johannesburg to Middelburg to collect the car and contacted Pamela from the AUDI dealership in Middelburg to advise that the tow truck would arrive on Friday 19 July in the morning to collect the car. An agreement was reached that the car would be collected at that time.

The issue arose when my private tow truck arrived at the dealership and was advised that the car could not be released due to an outstanding balance of R5800+. Outstanding balance was paid and proof of payment was made available. The car was also not ready for collection and was practically in pieces and the dealership advised that they had been waiting for a car part that arrived in the morning of collection and the car will only be released once this part is fitted in . This information had not been given to me prior and was only highlighted once the tow truck was there. The private tow truck operator was furious as he also had other clients to help and now had to wait for the car to be assembled. He resultant advised that the wait would attract additional charges. Furthermore a number of excuses were given regarding why the car could not be released some included internal compliance matters at the dealership. The two truck that arrived early morning form Johannesburg ended up leaving Middelburg just after 12pm. I have not received an apology from AUDI, nor an explanation as to why this was not shared prior yet there was a mutual agreement to have the car ready for collection on Friday morning. I would like AUDI to advise me who will cover the additional costs.

Not only did AUDI not manage to fix the issue which they had quoted me a large amount of money for, but they have cost me more money by failing to inform me of crucial information. It seems they were happy to receive deposits, balances and me hiring a private tow truck and did nothing to assist but just cost me more money. Despite paying and settling that amount of R15800+ the car is still not fixed to my satisfaction ,all I was told is that the car can start but there is a knocking sound that they are not sure of.They advised that the car wont reach JHB if driven. What guarantee do I have to know that the work done on the car amounts to the value of R15800. Upon enquiring of this knocking sound I was told that they are not sure but to strip the car to get to where the noise is will cost an additional amount of +-10k.That is when I made a decision to tow the car to JHB. I'm disappointed at the service received from Audi as I purchased 5 Audi cars from different branches
