Audi vs Autoworks: who has the vorsprung?

I was just looking back at a glowing review I posted last year for Autoworks called 'As good as the agents? No, way better!' and I was reminded what sparked the comparison; I took my Audi in to Century City to ask them to quote on a few things after I bought a 2nd hand Q3. They charged R1207 just to quote, which was pretty hectic I thought. Then when I collected the car, some of the badging was missing from the back ... the i in TDi had been taken/knocked/washed off. Despite the R1207 fee, not all of the items were covered by the quote; I was still waiting for a cost on replacing a parcel shelf. By the time Audi stopped returning my emails, I still didn't have a quote for the parcel shelf or an answer on the missing badging. Despite repeated emails I never did hear back from them. Just makes you appreciate the independents like Autoworks even more.
