I feel ****med by Audi. Paid R13.5k for a service plan that only gave me R7k worth of service work.
Bought a service plan from them after asking them multiple times what the two included services would cost if I didn't have the service plan and them confirming that it would exceed the cost of the service plan, but now that a year later after the second service has happened, I ended up paying double of the value of the services I received during the service plan life.
I understand that the service plan is based on the the first of 1 year and 120 000km (in my case}, but I explicitly said to the service agent at the time of buying the service plan that I'm unlikely to make the 120 000km by the time the next service is due and so he must give me the estimate of the two services that the service plan would cover taking that into account. The first quote was for a service on the same day at around R8000 and then a quote for the second service would be around R10000. And that's why he offered me the service plan in the first place because the expected service value was close to R20 000 and me paying R13 300 would save me close to R7000. He was the one who offered it on that basis. I hadn't even considered a service plan until he put this case forward. The problem is that he quoted these numbers over the phone and not on paper, and apparently he no longer works for Audi.
I know others who are also ****med like this and it is a terrible practice that needs to be addressed.
Effectively, I tipped Audi Port Elizabeth R7000.
