Know your legal requirements when using Auctions
I decided to use Auction Inc. to sell my house based on the fact that it was a quick sale with no additional costs. I was told selling on Public Auction means there is no additional costs. I was told properties are \voets toets\" With no come backs. This is no longer true and one must know the legal requirements when dealing with Auction houses to sell your property. Not only did I incur additional expenses after agreeing on a low sale price. I was threatened to be liable to pay Auction Inc their commissions due, should I cancel the sale. And sell privately at a realistic market value of R100k more. Not wanting to incur additional expense to defend myself I got the necessary done, Auction Inc. eventually agreeing to pay a small sum towards the additional expense. ( It was no surprise to me to learn they reduced this amount on pay out. ) Not only did I loose on additional expenses due to their lack of knowledge or dishonesty in order to conclude the sale. The 3 month delay also cost a fortune in interest.."
