Poor customer service from Asunde Day Spa

To celebrate my girlfriends birthday, I recently bought vouchers through Groupon for an afternoon of pampering for her and me at Asunde Day Spa. I was provided with a calender on Groupn, provided by Asunde, showing available dates and time slots. I chose a Friday afternoon 13h00 slot, received email confirmation of my booking and proceeded with all kinds of birthday arangements on the strenght of the confirmation.

Five days later, I get an email saying that my booking has been cancelled and that I should contact Asunde. Thinking that my booking has just been moved off the Groupon platform onto Asunde's booking system, I wrote to them, but no: I was informed that my booking had been cancelled and that I should choose another day and time as they are usually fully booked on Fridays and Saturdays. I explained that a cancellation was not acceptable as so many birthday arrangements had been made around the Asunde booking, but just received unhelpful, staccato emails in return.

Asunde is quick to financially benefit from promises made through systems like Groupon, but terrible at committing to the customer service which is supposed to accompany it. All it would have taken to accomodate us is a bit of overtime work or the hiring of a locum masseuse for an hour or two, but these suggestions went unanswered.
