Despicable and Disgusting Service

I am lodging a formal consumer complaint regarding a humiliating and deeply distressing incident that occurred at the Astron garage on Kempston Road, Port Elizabeth.

My elderly mother urgently required the use of an ablution facility while at this garage. She approached an attendant and explained her situation, only to be informed that the facility is not available to the general public. Despite begging and pleading, and clearly expressing that she would not be able to make it to another stop, she was still turned away. This was not a matter of convenience but rather a desperate and natural human need. The manner in which this situation was handled was undignified, lacking empathy, and completely unacceptable.

My mother was left feeling humiliated and degraded after being refused assistance at a time of vulnerability.

While we acknowledge that businesses may have their own policies and reserve the right of admission, basic human decency and compassion should never be overridden by rigid rules, especially at a fuel station where access to ablution facilities is widely considered a standard and humane expectation.

This incident has left our family extremely disappointed in Astron Energy and the conduct of staff at this particular location.

I trust that this matter will be taken seriously, investigated thoroughly, and corrective action, including staff retraining on customer care and dignity, be implemented to ensure that no one else is subjected to such an experience.

A response and accountability from Astron Energy would be appreciated.
