Water damage to Roof, Ceilings, Walls, Body corporate does not want to pay.

So the unit i have recently purchased - in February 2021 had water damage from the roof because the body corporate was not cleaning the drains and maintaining the outside of the units at Villa Marina in Glenanda.

Prior to purchasing the unit my offer to purchase stated that the unit need to be fixed both on the outside for the water damage, and on the inside for the water that came through. It has totally damaged the walls in the study to the point that the cement and paint is falling off.

In the lounge area the cornices and ceilings are brown from rotting from the water damage. In the second room the ceiling has collapsed from water damage.

Prior to me purchasing the unit the previous owner assured us that the body corporate have approved the repairs and are underway with the repairs.

Based on the above i purchased the property and true they have repaired the outside.

I was assured that both the outside and inside would be repaired.

After the registration had gone through and the ownership changed onto my name i lodged a query to find out when the body corporate are going to come in and repair the inside.

To my surprise i received an email from the agent that blatantly stated sorry since i am the new owner i am liable to pay for the damages on the inside.

This entire process has been a mess. For a first time home owner they have totally ruined my experience. I don't even feel like staying in this place anymore.

It is a knight mare, the agent representing the body corporate is unresponsive, the previous sellers are unresponsive. This entire experience is ridiculous.

There has been a back and forth communication now for the last 4 weeks, and every time there is delay tactics from the body corporate and the agent representing them. Emails are not being sent on time. Feedback is never given.

I lodged a dispute about this before on hellopeter and they deleted it and said it was in breach of GDPR.

I at a point where I want to get rid of this place now.

If i had any idea about the type of people i would be dealing with here and especially what kind of people are in the body corporate and the trustees i would have never bought this place.

I am disgusted and Appalled that people can get away with ****** these days.

Worst experience i have had in a very long time.
