Express Delivery which was not-very-Express.

Delivery: I paid for express delivery and my dress arrived 6 business days late, after being redirected to Jordan instead of South Africa. I was supposed to receive it on 31 August, received it on 10 September. They did however refund me my express delivery fee, but only after I requested it. It was not ASOS' fault because they shipped it on time, but it was the fault of DPD (the company they use to deliver items) and DPD only wanted to help if ASOS contacted them because ASOS was their client and I was ASOS' client.

Communication: I had to find out myself that my delivery was going to be late. After pestering both ASOS and DPD, I was told my dress would be delivered on 03 September. It did not happen. Then I was told my dress was to arrive on 11 September. It arrived today, 10 September. I was very upset because at the least customers should be notified of when there will be a delay; the reasons for the delay (which I also only received after requesting it multiple times); and the company should come back to the customer with comprehensive information (they only answered the questions they wanted to answer which meant I had to keep asking my questions).

Quality and fit of dress: The dress was beautiful and it fit perfect. I ordered a 14 and their helpful questions on their website (re body measurements) ensured that I ordered the correct size (in South Africa, my home country, I'm a 12 and I have big assets). The quality of the dress is well-made and while I was not able to wear the dress for the occasion that I originally bought it for, I will definitely keep it for a special occasion.

Will I buy something from ASOS again? As a first-time customer, I was quite disappointed by the drama I outlined above. I believe I will buy from them again but I won't bargain on 'express delivery' or their 'normal delivery'. If I do buy something again, I will make sure I have at least 2 months to spare and simply assume it will be delivered late.
