Warning!!! Don’t buy Asics

I bought a pair of asics kayano’s from sportsman’s warehouse and after two months the ons shoe started to break up under the sole. I did not think much of it at first but then it got worse and started on the other shoe. Now for an experience high mileage shoe this is not normal. When I took it back to sportsman’s warehouse they said it must first be assessed by the Asics guy and they will call him and get back to me. I asked them to call right there and then while I wait, half an hour later she returns and tel me they can’t get hold of the guy. Later that day I return to the store to find out what is going on and no one has an idea, I wait another half hour only to be told they still can’t get hold of the guy. So I asked for his number and called him myself (he answered immediately) and he asks me for pictures of the shoes. So I have to go back to the store to get the shoes (another mission to now get my own shoes back). So after sending the foto’s I have to ask again if there is feedback on them. Then Carl (“the guy” from Asics) just replies and says nothing to worry about it is normal. That is an poor answer and let’s call it a lie at best because high mileage shoes should not wear down that quickly nor start breaking up as it did in my case. I then took up the reply with Carl and he said he would take it up with his manager. Another week went by and I contacted Carl again to find out what is going on. He responded and said he is only meeting with his manager the next day. The following day I get a reply that says there is no factory defect on the shoes and they won’t exchange them.

Now for them to get to this conclusion without seeing the shoes at all is strange to say the least. Now if this is normal for high mileage running shoes I just want to warn people out there not to buy Asics, these shoes will not give me more than 400km. Which is nothing near high mileage , I can buy cheap shoes at 20% of the Asics price to give me the same mileage. Just be warned when you buy Asics you will not get your money’ worth. It is an inferior product and will not last the distance you expect from them. No wonder I got such poor service from Sportsman’s warehouse, this brand is nit high on there service agenda.
