Poor quality Asics running shoes

I bought a pair of Asics GT-2000 running shoes for R2500. Within the first 4 months of use the one shoe tore at the top. I understand that it is not a manufacturing error but am of opinion that shoes as expensive as this should last at least a year of running. This to me shows poor quality and durability of the materials used. It is unacceptable to me that I am then told that the shoes cannot be replaced or refunded. I am still a beginner in running and also obtained injuries in this 4 month. This emphasize my point even further that the shoes should last much longer than the 4 months it did. I am realy unsatisfied with the quality of this product
