Stay away from Ashburne Vet

I wish I had read all the reviews on here before taking my dog to Ashburne. We had to rush our dog there and as we were not allowed in with him due to COVID, alot of tests were run without our consent all while trying to convince us into running many more exploratory tests amounting to thousands of rands. My dog was returned to us in appalling condition. He smelt so bad that it made us want to gag and had a red inflamed rash on his underbelly, from what can only be unsanitary cage conditions. Furthermore, we found out that his harness was never removed off him from admission until discharge. My dog was having seizures and had to endure that while being restrained and uncomfortable in a stinking cage for more than 24 hours! This is completely unacceptable!

Don't even get me started on the reception staff. None of them had on masks despite interacting with clients. And besides the woman that handles the accounts, the rest are an absolute joke, very rude and condescending. It took me 4 days of phone calls to finally get a medical aid form filled in and emailed to me.

I have since spoken to many people that have had similar experiences (animals returned stinking with rashes on their underbelly, rude service from reception). Rather use Westville vet and save yourself the misery of having to deal with Ashburne.
