Repairs a joke

I took a chance to find out at Arthur Kaplan Riverside in Nelspruit if they do repairs on Fossil watches as I had 3 that needed attention. They said that they do and would send it to fossil to repair, it will take time though. (One's screen was cracked and needed replacing, the other the gem stones inside needed to be glued as it fell out and was stuck behind the arms of the watch and lastly one that needed a new battery according to me.) Well the lady was very friendly and assisted me by completing 3 different repair notes on which all of them stated to "Quote first". Well about 6 weeks later I called to find out what is happening, the lady told me that it takes 6 - 8 weeks for a quote. So I waited, 2 days later a lady phoned to say that I can come in and collect the one watch, the one that needed a batter, the cost is R850.00. I never received a quote and definitaly didn't give the go ahead. I was shocked as it was only a battery, I was told that it wasn't the battery and that it needed a service. I then told the lady that I was never advised of any repairs and now they tell me I have to pay for it. The lady then phoned me back and told me that the people at the repair shop said that they would only charge me R500.00. Well I still didn't bargain on it, as I just wanted a new battery and on the repair note it clearly stated "needs new battery". They have now phoned to tell me they are sending the watch back and they are going to take out the mechanism that was replaced and that my watch will then no longer be working. There is no guarantee that they will replace the new mechanism with the exact one it was sent in with, who is to say that the mechanism that will be place is infact mine? The sales lady said that they send the mechanism with to show that it has been replaced, so I asked her if the mechanism is with them, the answer was no, is with the repair shop. I feel that it was your Nelspruit-Riverside branch's employees that was at fault, yet they are trying to put the blame on the repair shop. The other two is costing me R204 and R425 which I can understand but to charge me R850.00 for a "service", something I didn't approve, is unacceptable!!!!
