I saw a ring I liked online which was marked at R1299. It also displayed available sizes and being a thick fingered woman my size (V) was not displayed. I submitted a web enquiry asking about my size thinking perhaps one of the stores would have it as I assumed sizes displayed were online, nonetheless I got a response from Sandton City from Desailly who said the ring could be made up in my size (I was elated) and immediately he asked if I would like to proceed with the order to which I said yes. I double checked with him if it would be made up at the same R1299 price to which he said yes. We communicated via email for the next few days where he told me I would need to pay a deposit and I said no problem and asked for an invoice which is where he then asked for my contact number which I gave thinking it was for invoicing. He then called telling me to tell me that he would invoice me R1999 which was the current gold price and asked if that was okay and I said no as I had already confirmed the price at R1299 with him and did not understand his whole gold price story. I then expressed my dissapointment via email to him and felt he had in fact probably not checked the price before confirming with me. He then went on to claim that he had in fact told me on email that it would be R1999 to which I refuted as I had confirmed the price At R1299 in size V. I forwarded him our email thread and said he should just take accountability and apologise and that it was okay to make a mistake. He did not stop there. Not knowing I am in the IT industry.. He then forwards me what he claims to be the email where he told me about the now price change which by the way was not in our original email thread and I was able to clearly see he has done a forward on one of our emails and changed the text and just copied and pasted on a new email. Initially I said to him I would not even bother complaining as it was just a ring and said to him in future be must take accountability but the more I have thought of it over the weeks, to have someone who can go to the extent of amending communication with customers in your business can be risky to say the least and I would not even feel comfortable doing anything with your brand if you have such dishonest enployees especially online where one might need to disclose personal information. What else could this person be amending with your business details and as your representative. I am still highly disappointed about being sold a dream by this guy with regards to the cost and furthermore being **** to and roped into his deception!
