Disgusting service

On Monday 28 March Easter weekend public holiday I had a burst geyser. I tried calling my insurers but to no avail. I frantically looked up the yellow pages for a plumber and found a contact number for Arnold/C&S Plumbers.

I called him and in half and hour he sent 2 guys out to my residence. They checked the geyser and advised that the geyser had burst and I will need a new geyser. One of the guys by the name of Sean called Arnold who he said was his boss to quote me on a new geyser. Arnold smsd me to say the cost of a new 200lt Kwikot geyser including valve, piping, drip tray and installation was R10 890.00, so due to the urgency of the matter I agreed that they can replace the geyser. They left and returned in half an hour which they said was a new geyser and started the installation.

After they finished installing the geyser they handed me an invoice and asked me to contact Arnold regarding the payment. I asked about the warranty card and Sean advised that they will complete it and send me a copy with a plumbers report for the insurance, I said ok and they left.

The next day my husband realised that they did not install the drip tray and also they made a hole in the wall around the outlet pipe from the geyser which they needed to patch up, so I phoned Arnold and he said he will check with his guys and get back to me. He never did, since 29th March I kept calling him to this day and he keeps promising that his guys will come out and fix up the wall and bring us the warranty card and drip tray but they never did. Everytime we call him he advises that his guys are about finishing up another job and they will be at my house next but they never ever pitch up.

I paid Arnold in 2 payments the next day and then submitted my claim to the insurers but they refused to reimburse me the complete amount paid as they said that the plumbers have overcharged me by R3000 for the job. I contacted him recently via email for his physical address and he refuses to give me the address as I want to hand this matter to Small Claims Court
