Ariva can never be trusted

Today i have just received a statement from Ariva stating that im suppose to drive 2500 kilometers per month. i was not told of this otherwise i was not going to take it. i have been with Ariva for the past 3 years and didn't know this. why am i being monitored how much i should drive a month because i pay monthly installments! R2415 for driving over the 'limit' is ridiculous! Next thing when my 60 months is over there will be more excuses for me to pay! my friends are looking to buy a car and i couldn't recommend Ariva for sometimes bad service and tons of fine print. in September i will be going to eSwatini so will this mean i should take taxis when i have a car that i pay for so i will not be monitored of driving over the limit??? i cant wait till my contract is over cause i have had enough of this company!

Good day, thank you again for registering your complaint and we would note as follows:

The  contract you entered into is a lease agreement wherein you accepted an arrangement to have use of an Ariva vehicle for a 60 month period.
The schedule which you signed and which is not part of the small print, and indeed the first page of the contract, has a clear reference under sections 6 and 7 that there kilometre restrictions and the agreed parameters. There is also the stated excess kilometre fee in the event that the parameters are exceeded
The reason for imposing these restrictions is that the lease payment agreed to upfront is based on such parameters and to not have these in place would leave Ariva liable to the possibility of receiving one of our vehicles back at the end of the term with excessive kilometre usage and thus severely impacting on the resale value of the vehicle.

I trust that this clarifies the matter but would be more than happy to discuss the matter further with you should you choose to. You can contact Customer Care on *** or write to us - ***

when i have completed the 60 month period of my contract does it mean i have ownership of the car or is there more payments to be made?

i have changed address and live 12 kilometers extra from my previous address leading to having excess of mileage. so this means im going to be paying extra for nothing. im planning on paying of the car and have ownership
