ABUSIVE CONTRACT FIRST TIME BUYERS BE WARE!

I got a call from Imtiaz Khan of Nash Nissan to say I had been approved for finance with Ariva Rentals . I was surprised because I had been rejected by major institutions- but I was desperate for transport so I trusted them and went ahead with the contract.

A lady named Glynis Wink came to my workplace to make me sign the contract . I questioned why it was a lease agreement and she said it was a rent to buy, she assured me the car would be mine after 72 months .

I had an accident and then I discovered that the car is full property of Ariva. I then asked why am I paying for tyres, license disc, brake pads and all these things if it is a rental. I was completely blind sighted and i was not made explicitly aware of the kind of agreement I had entered into.

I received no conclusive answer. It was then explained that its a lease agreement and if I want to terminate I have to ay 20% of the remaining instalments and also will be liable for any damages.

My contract is still valid and I dread the day it expires - because by the looks of things I will be charged an exorbitant amount for damages as they expect their car to be returned virtually new after six years of use , a goal which is impossible to reach.

Now I am stuck with this car even though it will never be mine- a waste of my hard earned money in these tough times. Their customer service stinks. The consultant lie to you and they are rude and dismissive . They are a bunch of bullies who will take your last penny from you without a conscience . I don't want to speak of the threats and ************. All I can say is don't do business with them you will regret it .

A warning to first time buyers - be weary of Ariva - they will sell you the car under the pretence that it will be yours. Their staff turn over is unbelievable- and whatever you agree with one representative does not hold when that representative leaves.

I am thoroughly disappointed that they have not been called to account on how this business is still allowed to operate and abuse consumers.

Why must you pay for damages after six years of use of the car ? You have already paid the full value of the car twice over in six years , and to have to pay damages , and if you fail to do so they take you to ITC and ruin your chances of a starting afresh with another dealership or ruin your chances of buying a house . This is a slave agreement . You will pay them until you die.
