Parcel recipient must phone to have Parcel Status updated - Parcel now Missing in Action
I ordered several items on 1 September 2021 from Amazon.com in America, which they shipped in three different parcels via Aramex.
Two of the parcels contained the exact same items, but despite this, the one parcel took twice as long as the other parcel to clear through customs and be delivered to me.
While that is bad, my main issue is with the third parcel. Today, 6 October 2021, I had to yet again phone Aramex to try to find out what the status of the parcel is, because there is no movement on the tracking number. Since the parcel arrived in South Africa, which appears to be either 15 or 16 September 2021, I've had to contact Aramex several times to follow up on the status of the parcel and to try and track the whereabouts thereof. Each time that I phoned, some status was changed or updated, which would have been delayed further had I not phoned. Today I was told that "the parcel keeps on being scanned at the Aramex facility, but is not taken in at the facility to start the delivery process", and the lady are now trying to find out where the parcel actually is and what's happening with it.
This is extremely poor service from the Aramex, both from the people dealing with Customs and Port Health and the destination facility staff. No parcel recipient wants to be stuck having to phone Aramex to try and get the parcel to move through their system, but that's exactly what seems to be happening with me, and I'm not impressed!
