Multiple "Attempted deliveries" without contact over three week (and ongoing) delivery delay after reopening.
Granted this is amidst a pandemic and I can understand the disruptions to business continuity but there should be no excuse for poor service when operation continues. The package was collected 1.5 weeks late due to Covid related closure - understandable. After collection the package was delayed and took a week to move from PTA to JHB sorting - again after reopening delays this is understandable. After those weeks, my package was out for delivery on 09/07 and again on 14/07 with both times "Attempted delivery - customer not available - delivery rescheduled". This is where my issue lies. I have not had any correspondence from Aramex regarding my package, tracking, scheduling that has usually been the case for other couriers and Aramex internationally. I logged an email customer support ticket that has still not been responded to. I was not contacted in either delivery attempt occasion. After the first occurrence of attempted delivery - I double checked my contact details were correct. I could not get a hold of Aramex SA telephonically and held for a total of ~30 minutes while I waited unsuccessfully for someone to pick up in all departments available through the call line. It took 3 business days between delivery attempts. DURING the second attempt, I had actually been successful in making contact through the call center and after 34 minutes of holding I had confirmed with the consultant that the package was out for delivery, my contact details were correct and i should receive the package ~13:00. Status update at 13:48 indicates "I logged an email customer support ticket that has still not been responded to. "Attempted delivery - customer not available - delivery rescheduled"
I still do not have this "overnight" package. No contact form Aramex throughout this process is just unacceptable. I could have scheduled a drive to pick up the package from PTA a month ago if I had the slightest idea this could occur AFTER reopening. I have received packages from china in two weeks during the last month, surely the pandemic cannot be an everlasting excuse when transporting a package from PTA to JHB.
