lack of contact

my parcel has been pending for the last 17 days with absolutely no contact or notification from customs to advise me that my package has been stopped and held by customs. I had to call in (which by the way is a painfull experience as calls ring unanwered for at least 15-20 minutes) and be transferred from pillar to post only to be told I need to submitt documents. Clearly, Aramex had no intention of informing me of this. Had I not called in, I would never have found out. Even after submitting docuement, receipt is not acknowledged. The customer service experience is really horrible.

Dear Potwana

Thank you for bringing the matter to our attention.

We apologize for the delay in delivery and we fully understand how frustrating this may be, however the shipment is currently held by Customs for inspection. This forms part of the normal import process, and Customs reserves the right to stop all shipments irrespective of the value declared.

Customs is not under Aramex's control and although we facilitate the process on behalf of the customer, they operate independently and is State owned.

Your complaint has been escalated to an Imports Team Senior, and he will be in contact with you shortly.

Kind regards
