Exceptionally poor quality of tracking status messages within RSA

Ordered a package from Amazon USA using Amazon Global shipping (Aramex). As stated by Amazon, parcel duly meandered its way around USA until arriving in RSA and to my pleasant surprise the tracking info reported "Completed customs clearance. Sandton, Gauteng ZA" one day after leaving USA! I was very excited as the last line of ineptness appeared out of the way - short lived that was.

After seeing my small parcel try unsuccessfully for 6 days to make it the last 10 km to my house, i eventually located a phone number for Aramex RSA (nowhere to be found on their website) and I called ***.....

Lots of waiting involved and then a helpful message to press "1" for a WhatsApp" service. Duly pressed and duly disconnected (twice). More patience lead to an agent.

Allegedly, the status i received is actually a "pre cleared by RSA customs" message. My conclusion after discussion with agent... basically means its still stuck on the international side of RSA customs limbo with no e.t.a on an escape date. Sighhh

Dear Aramex, please update your messages accordingly so as not create false hope. Please fix your WhatsApp service
