Do NOT believe adverti*****ts! They can be **** too!
Before I comment on my experience with Aramex South Africa, I would like to stress the importance of reading previous reviews of companies, especially if it is your first time with that company. I did not, with regrets. **** news is common in these times, and so is **** adverti*****ts. On the website of Aramex I saw that they advertise delivery within 2 days. That suited me well and because I wanted to post something on a Saturday after hours, their dropbox appealed to me. With great expectation to have the parcel delivered at the latest on the coming Tuesday (from Pretoria to Brakpan), I dropped the parcel into the dropbox around 3pm on the Saturday, after having bought the sleeve for R99.99. On Monday I regularly checked the Aramex tracking site to see the progress. It was collected at 5:26pm that afternoon. Why so late? Still in good spirits, I checked in on the following day, Brakpan is one of the big centres, so it should not be a problem (yet). To my dismay I saw that on that day, the parcel arrived at the Aramex destination facility in Jhb at 3:31am, and at 7:30 it departed from the original sorting facility in Pretoria (again?) in transit to destination. On the same day at 2:37 pm it arrived at the Aramex destinaton n Jhb. How so? On the following day at 1:02pm it again arived at the Aramex destination in Jhb. Are you confused? So am I. It was now 3 days in transit, going nowhere. I called their office in Pta (Jhb office was impossible to reach without holding the line for 30 minutes, listening to their wonderful services, while you know the truth.) The agent could tell me nothing more than I could already see on their website. The following day there was no update on the website. !! You can imagine my frustration by now. I again called the office and after some 20 minutes of listening to their advertising lies, an agent answered. Now, it is not in my nature to be rude and I quietly requested the reason for the delay. She could not help and said the the parcel should be delivered the next day. I stated the urgency by now and asked if she could not prioritise it, but she could not. The following day at 8:33am it was updated to say the exact same thing: Still in Jhb awaiting delivery. Another frustrating call followed. The agent then noted my query on the system, saying that she is asking about the reason for delay. Why did the very first agent not do this? I was sent off with the promise of a call back to inform me about the delay (it did not happen) and another vague promise that the delivery should take place the following day. It did not. Today is the 6th day after it was collected. Although Saturday, I called the aramex number in Pta. The agent said that there was no answer yet to the request for reason of delay and that it (the reason) should be received by Monday, which will then be the 8th day. I do not have much hope that the parcel will be delivered next week, and by then the contents of the packet will no longer be needed at the other end. Money wasted due to extremely poor servce delivery. I am giving this detailed information of my experience and want to urge you, paying potential customer, to do you homework first (which I did not). If this was my business, I would hang my head in shame. Welcome to South Africa.
