Delivery of package from overseas

I have a package that is "On hold" with Aramex in Johannesburg. The package arrived in SA on 6 February 2017.

I phoned on Friday (10 February, 4.39pm) to query what the delay is. The staff checked queried the tracking number on the system, assured me that everything was fine and that it will be released from "On hold" be end of Friday (10th), and will be scheduled out for delivery on Monday (13th).

I checked the status of the package online on Monday (13th). It was not showing any updates since February, so I assume the package was not released from "On hold".

I phoned again on Monday (13 February, 10.48am), to again query what the delay is. Again the staff queried the system, informed that everything was ok and that it will be released from "On hold" by the end of Monday (13th), and will be scheduled out for delivery on next working day (Tuesday, 14 February). So my assumption that the packaged was not released from "On hold" on Friday (10th) was right.

I checked online today (Tuesday, 14th). Again no updates to tracking information. I am sure that the package is still "On hold".

It will be of no use to contact me now to inform me that the package will be released by end of today Tuesday, 14th) and scheduled out for delivery on the next working day. That response has already been given twice.

What I want now is someone to follow-up on this. That is, request that it must be released, then check that it actually has been released and then schedule it for delivery.

I am not the direct customer of Aramex. Amazon, who chose to use you as the carrier provider for my package, is your customer. If this is not resolved timeously then I feel it is important to advise the customer (Amazon) of my issue, along with other people's issues here with their choice of carrier provider.

My parcel was delivered today, thank you. I don't know if a 3rd call would have sorted out my issue, but I'm sure that Aramex would agree that it shouldn't take 3 attempts to move the process to a next step. Issues are not limited to any single company, but acknowledging that there are problems and that steps will be taken to ensure the same problems don't again is a great way to improve customer satisfaction and build company reputation.

I wish to give thanks to all staff that assisted with my complaint here, I do believe that your assistance directly helped me get my delivery
