Delayed Packages for more than three weeks and still waiting!
I imported two packages from New York via Aramex Global Shopper. The service was advertised to all Pay Pal users in July 2017 as having an international shipping address in several overseas counties. Frankly I feel so **********, it just is not funny.
The first package valued at R320 arrived at the Aramex shipping facility in New York on 18 Aug 2017. It sat in their warehouse for a week before it was send on. It was only after I started to query the time frame that the package was quickly moved on and delivered three days later on 26 August 2017! The package arrived at OR Tambo and was delivered WITHOUT a customs check. I always assumed that customs physically checked every package that comes in, but apparently that is not so.
The second package valued at R280 arrived at the Aramex shipping facility on 26 Aug 2017. It was quickly send on 26 Aug 2017 and it arrived at OR Tambo on 31 Aug 2017. That is here the night mare started. According to Aramex, customs seized the package for inspection and it has been inspecting for the past three weeks!
I complained bitterly, but all I get is the standard "Customs Clearance - In Progress"... The Aramex website stated that all that is required besides payment is the original purchase invoice, which must be uploaded to their website before the package is send on to South Africa. I have no problem with that, but now I am required to produce not only the invoice, but also proof of payment and a copy of bank statement as proof that I actually did pay for the package!
If the value of the package was over the limit of R1400, then fine, but for R280? Really?
