Clearance Delay

Package arrived 20/01/2017 and processed for clearing. Waybill ********** 0520

I was initially told 2 to 3 days for clearance to be completed now I am told clearance takes 1 week.

It is now 10 days and after numerous calls I was put through to Mcdonald today at 10:15, who advised that they require the invoice and proof of payment for the shipment to submit for clearing.

Not once in the 10 days was I contacted for the required docs. It is 11:00 an still nothing.

Please do not tell me about customs being a state organ and they are at fault. ARAMEX did not do the necessary to follow up with them and notify me to get the required.

Your customer service agents should take responsibility of query and not merely say "Its at customs".

They should be able to tell you if information or docs is required or not.

And as for your previous response about someone contacting me you will pleased to know that NOBODY did, because that is exactly the delightful service you deliver.

Super ***********!!!

Dear Zubair

Thank you for bringing the matter to our attention.

We apologize for the delay in delivery and we fully understand how frustrating this may be, however the shipment is currently held by Customs for inspection. This forms part of the normal import process, and Customs reserves the right to stop all shipments irrespective of the value declared.

Customs is not under Aramex's control and although we facilitate the process on behalf of the customer, they operate independently and is State owned.

Your complaint has been escalated to an Imports Team Senior, and he will be in contact with you shortly.

Kind regards
