Bad bad service!

Bad service/ Day wasted! Received a text message from Aramex at 08:16 24 December 2021 to let me know that my package was out for delivery today. Fast forward its 14:05 and I've been waiting all day. Called the customer service to check what time my parcel will be delivered? Agent informs me that driver has knocked off and I won't be receiving my parcel today! Did I have to call and check up on them? After I've waited the hole day and canceled my plans? Very disappointed in the level of service! Appalling!!!
