Aramex / postnet Fail in all areas
Parcel handed in at Kuilsrivier, Cape town 10/09/2019, latest delivery date given at Mt Edgecombe branch 13/09/2019. On Friday the 13th, no updates done on tracking site, we call early on and are told that the vehicle was hijacked in JHB. Later the same day the sender goes to the Kuilsrivier branch and the staff deny all of the above including the call to the branch. I personally call the branch and the staff deny the Hijack claim, and nobody amongst the staff would make such a claim but the package would arrive in Dbn, Mt Edgecombe by Monday 16/09/2019. They Make us seem as fools because we cannot identify who we spoke to yet have telephonic record of speaking to somebody on the same number dialed.
Monday theres no system updates, 2 of the listed numbers for Mt Edgecombe do not exist and no branch knows why this is. I've dialed the call centre five times and within 3 to 5 minutes, the calls are dropped. I called the Kuilsrivier branch, get through to a woman who queried the number and after a while sees no updates, puts the reciever down, switches to afrikaans and asks if this is the same package involved in the hijacking... picks up the call, switches back to English and says that she will get the shop owner to call me back.
I still search and attempt to dial the aramex call centre only to have the call dropped after waiting ... Finally the Kuilsrivier owner gets back to me and admits the hijacking.
I'm not angry at this, I understand the situation... but angered at the dishonesty and manner in which they handle the situation. Time spent on hold, driving to the store and loss in trying to find d the parcel. The manager and I get into it and shout, as he doesn't want to answer questions on who he is, but wants to dictate the process and get done with this call. He admits that aramex owns postnet and is forced as a subsidiary to use Aramex, even though they suck at this service???. The hijacking along the Durban route had been on the rise. His staff instore were uniformed of the hijacking, though he seemed to have some idea that the truck had been hijacked on Thursday evening. (Sounds suspicious, 1 person knew on Thursday evening, yet this only comes to light between the owner, staff on monday and customers hinted to on the Friday?? , perhaps too much of scooby do viewing time for me..) Eventually we agree that the sender will go to the store to start the claims process.
When the sender arrives at the store, the owner says that the sender must wait for the next party who will be arriving in his place in a couple of weeks, to commence the claims process. The shop owner is going on leave and this is disrupting his process prior to his leave. He claims that this is the first hijacking, which doesn't tie up with what was mentioned over the phone. So now, we wait since we have no intervention from any other party except this rude individual who owns the Kuilsrivier brach, we cant seem to get through anywhere else.
Aramex and Postnet next have no manner of handling clients or packages. The national and international branch couldnt care less for as long as they're collecting something, they're making a profit and client are just a problem that gets in the way
