Aramex is terrible.

Terrible, **********, tragic courier service.

On the 25th of March, I managed to pull off the highly improbable. I secured a very rare pair of Nike Air Jordans from their Snkrs website. To put it in context, the shoes sold out in under 10 minutes and nobody ever really manages to secure sneakers from this website due to the high level of demand and low level of supply. You could imagine how chuffed I was that I managed to pull off acquiring a pair of these rare, highly sought-after shoes.

Nike stated that I should expect delivery at the 4th of April the latest, given the probable interference of logistics due to the Easter weekend I assume. However, Nike played their role brilliantly and the shipment arrived at OR Tambo on the 29th of March all the way from the Netherlands. Bravo, Nike.

Enter Aramex (he typed, begrudgingly).

The only other update on my parcel I received on my package after the 29th of March was an update on March 30th that my package had arrived at Aramex's OR Tambo destination facility. Nothing since.

Obviously it was Easter weekend, so I waited it out. Still nothing after a few days after Easter weekend and the 5th of April had passed. Obviously, it's South Africa we're living in, the land where efficient service delivery is more rare than Air Jordan 1s, so I waited it out. Still nothing. Eventually, I contacted their customer service via email on the 9th of April with no reply to that email to this day. However, I did receive an automated email asking my experience with the customer service email. How does that work?

I then turned to Twitter on the 10th of April whereby I was finally corresponded with come the next business day (Monday, the 12th of April). I was updated that the matter was escalated and that I could expect delivery of my parcel that same day. Whopee. Would you be surprised to learn that the parcel did not arrive on the 12th of April? Or more surprised to know that today is the 18th of April and I am still awaiting delivery?

This is because the Aramex operations team are apparently unable to locate my parcel which has been with them since the 30th of March. I am still awaiting feedback regarding my parcel to this day. I have enquired what the procedure will be if my parcel is in fact lost forever, and I was old that I would be contacted by Nike. I have an issue with this for two reasons:

One being it is not Nike's fault that Aramex doesn't know how to collect a box, place it in a van and transport it; and Two being if Nike does take accountability, they will only fairly refund me for the purchase price of the item. The item is definitely rare, and already has a market value of at least 25% greater than its retail price. If I want to replace the sneakers, I would have to spend even more money all because of Aramex's incompetence.

I am absolutely appalled by this poor standard of service delivery and it is no wonder why Aramex SA is rated so low on numerous consumer polls.

Reviewer Update
Update: I have only today (26 April 2021) received a concrete update regarding my package. The update being that my package is missing. Absolutely ********** service from start to end.
