Severe Damage to My Car Due to Over-Polishing – Beware
I trusted Quantum Coachworks (Herm****) with my 2019 VW Polo Vivo for a professional polishing job, but the results have been extremely damaging and unacceptable. My experience highlights serious issues with their workmanship, transparency, and accountability. Here’s what happened: 1.Bonnet Clear Coat Damage: After the polishing, my bonnet showed significant damage. Paint depth readings confirmed the bonnet measured ~70microns compared to ~95–105microns showing significant clearcoat loss on all other panels — a clear indication that the clear coat had been excessively removed during their polishing process. 2.Overall Vehicle Damage: The polishing caused over-polishing across multiple panels, leaving ugly glare and burn-through white patches on the left and right side body panels, as well as above the fuel tank. These marks were not present prior to taking the car there — I maintain my own car meticulously and know exactly what it looked like. 3.Window Seal Damage: All four window rubber seals were scratched during the work, further confirming a lack of care and professional handling. 4.Misrepresentation of Inspection: Quantum Coachworks claimed they brought in a paint inspector from RMI, but in reality, it was Daniel Can Rooyen from Quantum Coachworks who conducted the inspection himself. The report submitted did not accurately document the damage they caused. It only mentioned a minor stone chip on the bonnet, completely ignoring the clear coat burn-through and over-polishing on the rest of the car. 5.False Claims and Poor Communication: The workshop tried to shift responsibility, claiming pre-existing damage or stone chips caused the issues. This is false and unsubstantiated. The damage was clearly caused during their polishing process. Despite providing evidence, their responses have been inadequate and dismissive, refusing to take responsibility or properly rectify the damage. Conclusion: I am extremely disappointed with the service at Quantum Coachworks (Herm****). Their work ruined the paint and appearance of my car, and their lack of transparency and accountability is alarming. I am sharing this review to warn others who may consider using their services — exercise extreme caution before trusting them with your vehicle.

Quantum Coachworks
In the last year or so I had the misfortune to damage my car. In both cases I was referred to Quantum Coachworks for the repairs. In both cases they performed such excellent work that the damaged areas were completely restored with no trace of the damages that had been caused.. They also provide regular updates on the progress of your vehicle through their system and complete the work timeously. Very highly recommended!

In the last year or so I had the misfortune to damage my car. In both cases I was referred to Quantum Coachworks for the repairs. In both cases they performed such excellent work that the damaged areas were completely restored with no trace of the damages that had been caused.. They also provide regular updates on the progress of your vehicle through their system and complete the work timeously. Very highly recommended!
