We regret trusting AquaBlue!

In November 2024, we paid R74,750 for drilling and a lockable manhole cover with concrete housing. The drilling team claimed to have found water at 94m, but communication on their side was very poor throughout this entire process, I was constantly chasing them for updates and information. By December, we were told our borehole had collapsed.

AquaBlue promised us (verbally and over WhatsApp) to redrill within weeks and even sent us a letter via email confirming this. Despite that, months passed with constant excuses, ignored calls, and unanswered messages. In the end, they never returned to fix the problem, never redrilled, and wont even refund us the R9,750.00 for the manhole and housing which were never even installed. So they've just kept that R9,750.00 for themselves!

Shaun (the owner) would constantly tell us how they are struggling with equipment that needs very costly repairs.. this raises questions about the equipment that was used to drill our borehole. Is that why it 'collapsed?'

We were left with a collapsed, unusable borehole, over R74,000 lost, and a huge amount of wasted time and stress. After taking the matter to small claims court, the commissioner heard both sides and then referred our case to the magistrate’s court. We gave AquaBlue every opportunity to make this right, but they refused to take proper responsibility. I would not recommend this company to anyone, please be very careful before trusting them with your money or your property.

Looking back, here are some red flags I wish we had noticed sooner:

Their website only displays 5-star Google reviews, all written on the exact same date,18 Sept 2024, clearly suspicious.

At the site visit, Henry was confident we could drill anywhere on our plot, but on the day the team said the sandy soil made it impossible to maneuver the rig, forcing us to drill in a less suitable location. This was a major oversight Henry should have addressed during the site visit.

Henry confidently told us that we’d definitely find water at 60m, encouraged us to drill to 80m, yet in the end water was only found at 94m.

On the morning of drilling, the team arrived unannounced at 07:00 and said that we need to provide 5,000L of water for the drilling process. Knowing our plot had no water supply, Henry’s advice was that I “ask the neighbors for water.” Completely unprofessional. In the end, we spent R13,800.00 on water for the drilling process, more than 10,000 liters were used. We had to order water from the closest water supply company, we weren't given any notice so that we could compare quotes & get organized before drilling day.

The main people we dealt with were Henry, Shaun, and Lamos - all of whom failed to deliver on their promises.
