Apt.27 West Street Sandton, Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa: Horrible experience

It has become tiring, exhausting and emotionally draining to deal with the owner if this property. We booked accommodation at Apt.27 West Street Sandton for a weekend. 1. Upon arriving at the place which took us more than 30 minutes to find because the GPS could not take us there and the people around not even knowing of such a place and after calling the owner we finally arrived in a scary complex that we could not believe our eyes. 2. There was no security at the gate. 3. The gate was widely open and anyone could go in 4. The buildings and run down and clearly not being maintained which was a huge turnoff 5. We had to find the below glass doors as instructed by the owner which were not locked and some had cracks. 6. After landing on the floor where the room is situated was a long scary corridor with people screaming off their lungs, drinking and all over the place. 7. The complex looked scary and very unsafe

Because of the above we called the owner to let her know of our concerns, instead we reached a person that was defensive, rude and bulldozing all our concerns. She bragged to us how she has been hosting people for some time now and never had any issues. We also stated to her that we had a car that we felt will not be secured considering that the gate was not working. Her only concern was that she will lose the money for the booking if we cancel. We had to be on call back and forth between booking,com and the owner and both giving us a run around about who has to pay us back. We had to leave the apartment and book another secure place and kindly asked the owner not to force is to stay in a place full of safety hazards. All she cared about was money and not even a single thought went to what we said and wanted. All we wanted was our money back and she refused to refund us.
