*********** Pretending to be a Fridge Engineer

We called this company to come and do an emergency repair on our Fridge/Freezer on Sunday 28 Oct. They responded quickly with someone called Mike attending (he said he was from Zimbabwe but he was very tall and dark skinned and slender build). He inspected the fridge and stated there was a blockage that he could clear and he would need to re-gas and then the problem would be fixed and it would cost R1400.

We had no option but to go ahead otherwise all of our food would spoil. When he completed the job he said that we needed to keep the fridge/freezer off for 3 hours before we could switch it back on. That meant there was no way to test if what he did worked. Sure enough it did not work and we have called and asked him to come back to repair our fridge or refund the money. He has failed to come back after promising 6 times to do so and we believe this is a **** and ***** that is being run.

When he wrote the receipt for us to prove we made payment - we were concerned that the receipt book was a generic one and also the receipt he had provided for the customer before was for the exact same thing for the same amount. We thought this was odd. So now we are sitting with a fridge/freezer that does not work and have lost all of our food and perishables worth R1500 and R1400 out of pocket.

He also stated verbally and wrote on the receipt that there is a 6 month guarantee.

He is driving a white small sedan possibly a Polo with a CY registration. We cannot find an address for this company and both of these numbers are answered by Mike - ********** 183 and ********** 579.
