Paid but only empty promises to show for it
I contracted Appliance Repair Centre on 20 July 2021 to repair my older model Speed Queen washing machine. They were relatively quick in letting me know what was wrong with the machine and I gave them the green light to do those repairs. However, after doing those repairs they discovered that the motor was overheating and also had to be replaced. Because they had to order the motor at a cost of R7650 they asked me to pay them this amount in advance, which I did. Ever since then it has been the one lame excuse after the other as to why my machine has not yet been fixed and returned to me. At no time ever did they contact me to bring me up to date with why the process was taking so long. I carried the burden to keep on following up with them and every time they gave me some sort of promise that the work was about to be completed and the machine was about to be delivered. The latest: on the afternoon of 25 August 2021, when enquiring from Chris why my machine was not yet delivered as promised, he indicated that the machine was ready for delivery but that his driver got sick on the road. Supposedly my machine is standing there all wrapped up and ready for delivery and it will be delivered first thing on 26 August. At the time of writing this review it is mid-day 26 August, no machine has been delivered to me as yet, I have not been contacted to be informed about any delays and the lack of communication does not surprise me at all. Take a lesson from my experience: if you hand these guys your appliance for repairs, you do so at your own risk.
