Appliance Guru and Others

Such a shame that I have to give 1 Star!!! There should be a negative symbol here. Hello Peter - please think about introducing negative symbols. This so called appliance repair company is just a **** - belongs to the MV Appliances Group which is also mentioned - and not in a good way - on this site !! From a little research, it seems MV Appliances is the spider in the middle of the web - controlling smaller satellite spider companies. The so called technician that came to me from Appliance Guru was called Brilliant - very ill named ! His cell number is ***. My fridge/freezer had stopped working. He advised my compressor would need to be replaced along with the thermostat. This would cost me R3 500. He gave me a quotation on MV Appliances stationery. I accepted and he came back the following day to effect the repair - or so I thought ! When he had finished - he asked me to transfer the money via Instant Pay. I transferred the funds to a bank account with the name Mr B Tshabangu - FNB Bank - account ***. 2 days later, the fridge/freezer again failed. I contacted Brilliant and he did come back to take a look and advised that the compressor must have been faulty and he would need to exchange it. That was the last I saw of him and unfortunately, my R3 500 ! :( Despite promises that he would come back, he never did and soon stopped responding to my messages. So, if anyone out there is thinking of having appliances fixed - don't go near any company with the name Appliance Guru and make sure you don't receive stationery with MV Appliances as the heading !! You will most likely say goodbye to your money. To make matters worse - I decided to cut my losses and buy a new fridge/freezer. I gave the old one away and told them the problem. They had someone they knew come through to see if it could be repaired. He said "no problem ". He found a hole in the hose where the gas goes through. He replaced that at a cost of R650 - filled up with gas and the appliance is now working perfectly !!!! :(:(
