PLEASE Avoid Appliance Doctor Repairs

Please avoid this person at all costs. I asked Obrian Zinyama ( ********** 592) to transfer the parts of an old working gas heater to the newer gas heater that wasn’t working. I sent an sms and he said he was able to do that and asked how much it would be. He said he will tell me once he got to my house. When he got there, I asked him again "How much?" and he said he will let me once he was done. After he was done he expected me to pay R780 for labour!! I told him "no" because he can't just make up a price and I had asked him more than once how much it would be. If he had told me from the start it would be R780 I would have called someone else for a quote. I eventually paid him R600.

After he had transferred the parts it was working but the flames are extremely high and a fire hazard. The old heater was working perfectly fine so the parts should have been in perfect working order. After he had transferred the parts I had issues. I told him to go fix it at his workshop so that he can do a proper repair. Guess how long it took? More than 5 weeks!! He told me he would bring it back on a Saturday but couldn't test it because he didn't have gas. I told him to get gas somewhere to test it before he returned it. He had previously used all my gas to test and I wasn't going to get a refill for a heater that doesn't work properly. So I finally got it back untested and when I tested it, it was clear that he had not done ANY repairs at all! In other words I paid him R600 to damage my heater. http://www.appliancedoctor.co.za
