WHY DOES APPLE MAKE THE CHARGER CORDS SO FLIMSY

Hi<br> <br> Apple must be making a fortune out of the cords for the charges for the iphones and ipads.<br> They don't last more than 6 months and a new one costs close on R329<br> We go through one every 6 months but it is suppose to have a 1 year warranty but when you take it in, they say it is self damage.<br> The cord gets very hot and the plastic starts peel at the ends which they say is self damage or that you play on your phone whilst charging.<br> Cant they just make the cord with better quality materials???
