Water damage on IPhone

My father got a brand new Iphone 6 fell into the water for a mere second. Went to Istore in Bloemfontein, they just wanted to trade me R3000 for his phone, went to Vodacare in Bloemfontein and they just said he must throw the phone in the bin and buy a new Iphone for R10 000. eventually he had to take his phone to Procell, they opened it and dried it inside, the phone still doesn't want to switch on.<br> <br> Very disappointed that no one can fix his phone.
