THANK YOU Apple for excellent customer service!

Last week I wrote a poor review for Apple regarding my Apple Watch; after swimming with it, it sustained water damage and the iStore’s initial assessment was that they would not cover the damage and I would be charged with replacing the unit.

I went into the Eastgate store and spoke to the assistant manager, Minkateko, who listened carefully so that she could fully understand the circumstances of what had happened. Although I was upset, she was calm and understanding. She advised me to call an global Apple customer care line and in the meantime she would see what she could do.

As it turned out, the watch was just a few days out of warranty, however, she managed to make some phone calls and have Apple honor their warranty. The device was replaced under the Apple care conditions and was ready within a few working days. Thank you iStore Eastgate and thank you Minkateko for excellent service and for honoring the warranty.
