System services chow data !

I love my Iphone 5c but recently I have had issues that really disappointed me.

For starter I updated my software and my Iphone turned off during the final stages - connected to charger-and when I turned it back on then I had to connect my phone to Itunes on a laptop which I don't have. I took it into a Vodacom store to see what they can do and three months later I only got my phone back. Apple needs to consider that some consumers don't have access to a laptop or a laptop with wifi access and this can really make it difficult for us.

Also, when I upload 1-3 GIGS of data then the system services seem to be chowing data and it has never done this in the past. I followed online instructions to open the Settings app, tap General, then tap Background App Refresh. Next, switch the Background App Refresh to its off position for the apps you want—it'll switch from green to white. Go to Settings, then to iTunes & App Store. Next, scroll down and make sure the Use Cellular Data toggle is in the off position.

I did this but then my Whatsapp wouldn't connect and my Instagram posts and messages wouldn't load. I for example now have loaded 1 gig of data on my Iphone and once again it has taken more data then it usually does. I have only used 280 MB and the system services have taken 5,5 MB . In general for Instagram , Yahoo mail app , Safari and Whatsapp it is chowing data like it never has in the past .

What can I do ? This is extremely frustrating because data is ridiculously expensive! I go on Whatsapp for 5-10 minutes to text and when I check then system services has chowed 1mb of data.
