Shattered glass on iwatch

I got a apple watch series 3 on 19th of January 2018. On the 3rd of april 2018 the glass on the watch just popped on my hand. I took good care of the watch. Never bumped it or put it in water. Even if its waterproof. So took the watch to Apple because it has a year warranty. The reply i got was the following “Please note that your unit has multiple cracks and missing pieces of glass. , which has voided the warranty”. This is unacceptable. How would it be humanly possible to pick up thousands of pieces of glass to hand it in with the watch. Most of the glass was even on it still stuck to my protector. This is pathetic from apple.
