“Planned Obsolescence”
Purchased Beat Studio Wireless headphones 16 months ago (4months out of warranty). The leather type material pulled loose on the right earpiece and I approached Apple asking if they would assist with the repair. I understood that it was outside of the warranty period and offered to pay for the repairs. After numerous attempts the store reluctantly sent the headphones to their service centre at a fee of R250. Two days later I was informed that they were not willing to repair the headphone’s despite the fact that I was prepared to pay. Their offer was that I purchase a new set at a discount of R200 ( retail price R5999). So much for Apple’s customer service policy and promise of quality. I guess it is time to change to a brand that is prepared to back their product!
