No after sales service, HORRIFIC

I am truly disgusted in service receceived from Apple South Africa. I went to Eastgate to happen my iPhone battery replaced and was turned away as the device was purchased in the USA in 2014 when I stayed there. I contacted support on my I store and was advised because the device was not purchased in South Africa no assistance can be provided. This is utterly disgusting as it remains a product of Apple irrespective of where it was purchase. I am of the impression this is to try force me into buying a new device, dear Apple i will rather the buy HUAWEI as they will take better pride in after sales services, I will also cancel all my subscriptions and replace the other 5 Apple devices in my household.
