New iPad pro M2 vs 1st Gen iPencil

I purchased the new Apple iPad Pro M2 last week, after a lot of research. Today, 9 days after the fact I discover in the iStore that it is not compatible with the 1stGen iPencil. I have two of those. When I purchased the iPad, this was a business decision and I budgeted carefully, taking GREAT financial risk. I traded in my old iPad towards the new one too. They deducted a R500 from that refund / credit as I did not have my charging block / cable. They did not mention ANYWHERE that those were required. I have not been able to work since.

I tried purchasing the adapter needed to pair the 1stGen pencils from various cheaper suppliers and thought them to be problematic, due to my internet research. Today, in the iStore I bought an expensive adapter thinking this would resolve my problem. After the trainee and technician then tried to figure out why it would not work, the technician said its possible that it would only work with a 2ndGen pencil. I was refunded for the adapter I just purchased and 10% was deducted from the amount returned to me.

I cannot afford the newest 2ndGen pencil (especially not after spending so much time on running after solutions with false information and I have not been able to commit to illustration commissions).

Apple, this sucks hugely. My bread and butter, my livelihood is compromised because of information that is not readily available and CLEAR on the internet, as well as ill informed sales people. I'm such a huge fan of your products and have never had problems, but it seems that only the RICH can truly enjoy these.
