New apple device quality is pathetic

I have had my iphone 7 for a year and my phone has never fallen. I previously had an iphone 6 and it fell several times with no damage to the screen or device. On sunday my phone was on charge and it fell off a bunch of magazines next to my bed onto the carpet and the screen shattered. I thought it was the tempered glass but when i took of the screen protector i saw that it was my screen. I have been a loyal apple customer for the past 10 years and am disgusted that the product has been made so lousy. I use to believe that I was investing in apple products due to its quality but I have been proved wrong. I contacted apple support who outright advised it is not covered by the warranty. I now have to fork out more than R3000 for a new LCD Screen which I think is disgusting. The device itself cost an arm and a leg and it wasn't made from the quality that one would have expected and now to still pay an additional 3K is pathetic. I will not recommend Apple products to anyone as the price is so high and the quality has really dropped and the after service is absolutely appalling.
