iStore not competent of fixing iPhone 11
I submitted an iPhone 11 to iStore. The phone was unable to charge, so naturally the battery was fully depleted, and was therefore unable to switch on or connect to a PC.
Apple decides to do a HDI DIAGNOSTICS. This to me is just pure stupidity, the device doesn't power on and the battery is fully depleted, how on earth is it supposed to be responsive. Secondly, I'm then charged R250 for someone to plug my phone on iTunes, sorry to downplay the test, and tell me that it's unresponsive. They were too eager to point out that the device has dents, which to my view are scratch's which were caused by the hard case but I guess this is a matter of perspective. The reason to my view why iStore concentrated on this aspect is the fact that the device has iCare+ which meant that I was due for a replacement. I never wanted a replacement, my phone is 18months so all I wanted was my device to be fixed or at least be properly assessed, I've paid for it so why am I not getting proper assessment like Sumsung does. Sumsung opens up the device and analyse thereafter give you a detailed report if your device cannot be repaired. Apple simple connect to iTunes. This I can do on my own.
I feel that Apple is running a ****, whereby the only thing the technicians at iStore do is to deem a device irreparable without conducting any thorough assessment, I'm sorry by the HDI DIAGNOSTICS doesn't make sense when the device has a dead battery and unresponsive to charging. I would have expected that a test of the mother board was conducted, if it passes then a battery test and thereafter the charging unit not what I got.
Secondly, I complained using the Apple website, and the complain was redirected to the very same shop that I have a problem with. This to me is pure disregard of customers, how does one complain about someone and you send them back to the very same person they are complaining about. I already know the position of the branch but I want to know what is the position of Apple or HQ for a lack of better words. I then spent a good amount of time going back and forth with the store manager about the same issue, mind you this is not the first device that I've submitted but literally I've received literally the same report. Next time I can take the report and edit it on the dates and IMEI number and submit to my insurance without being cheated of R250 for copy and paste report.
The sad thing is that disappointed as I am, I'm still going to purchase another iPhone knowing very well that the relationship between myself and Apple ends when the transaction is successful and you've got the money and you hand me a new device thereafter I'm on my own.
After sales service doesn't exist, at least for me when it comes to iPhones and iPads.
