IPad pro 12.9-inch faulty within 2years for no reason

I bought my ipad pro 12.9-inch 2nd generation less than 2 years ago. The screen has been giving problems for the last few months. It is sometimes non-responsive and really a pain when trying to type. I never dropped it etc. We finally took it to to the istore and the feedback is that it the ipad is faulty and needs to be replaced. They offered c50% discount on a new one that will now cost be cR14k however I did not expect a relatively new premium product to just fail like this..
