Disappointed with how Apple partner CORE has fixed my phone and now they hold me liable for residual damage from their poor job!!!

I would like to extend my great disappointment, my phone was sent in for screen repairs two weeks back and after it was fixed i accidentally dropped it in the sink where I was pouring water to wash dishes, there was hardly any hard impact because i managed to pick it up quickly. The sink water was about 10cm deep.

According to Apple iPhone XS water resistance rating is IP68 which means it can be in water 2m deep for up to 30mins, my phone was under water for a fraction of that time. A minute is too long.

When I send my phone back to CORE they give me a quote stating that because the phone shows liquid damage they cannot be held liable (ref number: R403390). This happened after my phone was fixed by CORE! It is unfair that because they didn't assemble my phone properly now I have to pay for the fix.

They are using the clause to cut their way out of taking responsibility on their poor maintenance when fixing my screen.

My phone is six months old, still under warranty, what i question is how come this "liquid damage" happens after they "fix" my phone.
