Defective wireless Beats 3 earphones (Apple)

I am hoping that resorting to a social media platform will resolve the below issue that I have recently encountered with Apple (more specifically the Core Group).

I purchased a R3 500 pair of wireless Beats 3 headphones on the 13th of June 2017. It is common knowledge that a large majority of these products have a 1 year warranty, however, as a fanatical Apple user you don't reasonably expect that this reputable brand (in this case a Beats product) would totally malfunction within a two year period.

Section 20(1)(a) of the Consumer Protection Act specifically states that the client has the right to return goods that are defective (I am of the humble opinion that my Beats meet the criteria of being defective)...surely in the event that the purchased goods aren't performing their nominated function (even if this happens outside of the one year warranty period) the consumer should be put back into the position that s/he was in before the product malfunctioned?

I have spoken to a couple of people from the Core Group and the managerial oversight has been none existent and what they have lead me to believe is, short of your product completely malfunctioning in year one, Apple as a company will not budge when it comes to looking after loyal clients.

Am I going to have to waste my time and money to get an attorney to draft a legal opinion as to how the above mentioned CPA provision should be interpreted or is there an Apple manager who is willing to reconsider this shocking customer service?

Look forward to hearing from someone in due course.
